Ranking of China's most popular new energy vehicles by delivery volume in March 2025

On April 1st, Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) startups successively announced their March delivery numbers. So far, the top three are Leapmotor, Li Auto, and GAC Aion based on the current published data. Let’s take a closer look below.

Leapmotor crowned the NEV startup sales champion for the first time in 2025 last month, with 37,095 vehicles delivered, a month-on-month increase of 46.7% and a year-on-year increase of 154%, bringing its first quarter performance to 87,552 vehicles. Looking ahead, Leapmotor will launch its B10 SUV on April 10.


So far this year, Li Auto has ranked among the top three consistently. In March, the brand delivered 36,674 vehicles, a month-on-month increase of 39.64% and a year-on-year increase of 26.5%. Its cumulative Q1 delivery is 92,864 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%; and its overall delivery volume is 1.2267 million vehicles. On April 2, Li Auto also announced that its L series delivered the one millionth vehicle.
Other notable mentions on the list are Xpeng, Xiaomi, and Deepal. Xpeng continued to maintain a stable monthly sales of more than 30,000 vehicles for five consecutive months, with 33,205 vehicles delivered in March, a year-on-year increase of 268% and a month-on-month increase of 9.04%. In the first quarter of 2025, Xpeng delivered 94,008 vehicles, slightly more than Li Auto.
Similarly, Xiaomi performed steadily, with deliveries exceeding 29,000 vehicles in March. Furthermore, Deepal delivered 24,371 units, up 86.7% year-on-year and 30% month-on-month.
